FANTASY BASEBALL – Buy Low, Sell High Options
When Hicks first came up, people thought he was going to be better than Pollock. No, not dumb people. In Double-A, Hicks had 12 homers, 32 steals and a .285 average. Then strikeouts enveloped his game in the majors and he hit .192 with a 27% K-rate in 2013, and hit .215 with a 25% K-rate in 2014, but this year, .277 and a 17% K-rate! That’s a huge improvement
FANTASY BASEBALL – Cole Hamels and Others Likely on the Move
After almost striking a deal Saturday and having it fall apart, the Royals completed a trade for Johnny Cueto on Sunday afternoon. It was exactly what Kansas City needed, even if the effects of trade deadline deals are almost always overblown. Let’s not forget, it was the Tigers and A’s who looked like the big winners last deadline day, with the Royals and Giants remaining quiet.
FANTASY BASEBALL – Young Unknown Over-Performing Pitchers
The Young Unknowns are the shiny new toys who are having some success this year, but carry risk due to a lack of track record. That volatility could definitely burn you, but when you’re in Hail Mary mode, that upside is desirable enough to take on the risk. These guys won’t necessarily come cheaply because they aren’t failing, but they will usually still be cheaper than what a peak version of him with a track record would cost.

In the past few weeks, there have been a ton of home runs in the MLB from an unlikely cast of characters. Well, not completely unlikely. In the meantime, the guys you expect to be slugging homers have been cold at the plate.
I’m here to tell you how to make the most of these recent power eruptions and get a great deal on a legitimate superstar at the same time.

There is plenty of value out there that can help your team. You just need to use all of your powers of persuasion and all of your skills to work out a deal. FANTASY BASEBALL – Buy Low, Sell High, Hold
Hector Rondon, RP, CHC (78 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues)
The random use of Rondon the last few days is pretty vexing. He was pulled from a save chance Satuday after a walk, despite no blown saves or runs allowed in the two weeks before. The team rushed out and signed Rafael Soriano, gave Pedro Strop a save, gave Jason Motte a save. Then Thursday, the Cubs went right back to Rondon, and he got his three outs in four batters for his 11th save.

As for Junior Lake, I’m a big fan outside of the theatrics. He’s a 12-homer, 15-steal guy that should play most days until Soler returns. I’ve added him everywhere I could. After I added him, I shushed my hand on my mouse. Anyway, here’s some more players to Buy Low or Sell High this week in fantasy baseball:

FANTASY BASEBALL – Buy Low, Sell High Candidates
Your Fantasy team is constantly communicating to you. Your roster perpetually tells “you who they are, but we ignore it – because we want them to be who we want them to be.” That might make us hold on to a player too long or not pursue a player that can help our Fantasy team. Listen to what your Fantasy team is telling you and like Draper says, “if you don’t like what’s being said, change the conversation.” How do you change the conversation? You try to buy low and sell high.
