Week 9 Rankings – Weekend Injury Adjustment

A.J. Green looks like a go against the Jags. I own a lot of shares of Green, from both the draft and buying low over the past few weeks, and I’ll be starting him in every league… unless something changes during the pre-game. Tune into FNSTY Sports Network for our live coverage up until kickoff for the latest on all injuries and start/sit questions.

Gio Beranrd is out. Jeremy Hill is in. Start him. Cedric Peerman will snake away carries, but mainly in a change-of-pace role. I have Hill ranked as RB11.

Week 9: Game Picks | FAAB Bids | WR Adds | RB Adds
Week 9 Rankings: FLEX | QB | RB | WR | TE & D/ST
Week 9: Starts/Sits | Buy Low/Sell High | Bye Week Replacements

Doug Martin didn’t practice Friday – the most telling day – and is listed as doubtful; treat the Bucs’ backfield like Martin doesn’t exist. And, for as mental as people are going over Charles Sims, this is setting up to be Bobby Rainey’s backfield in Week 9. Sims is expected to be activated from the IR/DTR Saturday afternoon and be uniform, but his workload is a complete wildcard. Sims’ range of outcomes go as high as 20 touches to as low as seeing fewer touches than Mike James. Sims has a terrific opportunity to be the most valuable Tampa RB the remainder of the season, I’d definitely want him on my roster for upside purposes; for Week 9, though, start Rainey in a soft matchup against the Browns.

Beware of Brandon Oliver’s workload. With Donald Brown expected to return from his concussion, Oliver’s more likely to play in 60-70-percent of snaps than the near 80-percent he’s be getting while Brown’s been out. I’ve dropped him down from low-end RB1 to a mid-tier RB2. He’s still a solid start, but Oliver’s ceiling may be capped because of an exodus of opportunity. Next on the forecast: Ryan Mathews’ return, which looks like it’s happening next week. Be prepared for six straight days of speculation on the Chargers’ RB touch distribution from people that don’t really have any idea how it will shake out – LIKE ME!!!

Rashad Jennings is officially out Monday night. This means Andre Williams gets another week of value if you need a starting RB. However Williams isn’t a lock to generate points; if the Giants fall behind, expect Peyton Hillis to be on the field A LOT. In New York’s past two games, both losses, Hillis played 46-percent of the Giants’ offensive snaps. If you’re really stuck for an RB or PPR FLEX, Hillis makes a respectable gamble for 5-10 Fantasy points.

Tony Romo is a game-time decision. I’d stay away from Romo, even if he’s active, as you’d have to think the potential for re-injury is a higher probability than most other QBs. Tough to pass on an excellent matchup, but I don’t want to risk Romo getting hit on the first play and leaving the game. And with the bounty of equal upside, higher floor QB streaming options available in Week 9 (Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer), I don’t feel too bad sitting Romo down. Ditto for Robert Griffin III. If I didn’t HAVE to play RG3 this week, I wouldn’t. Although, I do like Alfred Morris and Pierre Garcon a lot more with Griffin back under center.

Dion Sims is out for the Dolphins. Boohoo.
