Although it should have happened about a month and a half ago, Tre Mason will finally rise above the 60-percent threshold this week. Bout time. What’s wrong with people?… Some may be surprised to see Latavius Murray so low in the Week 13 waiver wire POWER RANKS but, I assure you, there’s good reason. And it’s not just the concussion he suffered Thursday night, that shouldn’t hinder his status Sunday in Houston with a full 10 days to heal. No, it’s partly about his remaining schedule: at STL, vs SF, at KC and vs BUF; the Niners and Bills rank inside the Top 10 in rush DVOA for the season, making up two-thirds of Murray’s playoff matchups. Plus, while it did seem like Oakland would have given him more carries had he not been forced from the game, Thursday night was only the second time all season Raiders RBs breached 20 carries as a unit. He’s worth an add, no doubt, but thinking he’s a savior to your Fantasy roster is foolish… Now, DanBOOM BABY BOOMHerron, he looks like he’ll produce around 80-percent of what Ahmad Bradshaw was providing on a week-to-week basis. Herron out gained Trent Richardson on the ground (not a huge accomplishment) and was utilized far more in the passing game, seeing five targets to T Rich’s one. Expect low end RB2 production from Herron the rest of the season in PPR formats… No idea if Jonas GrayTHE SNOLAX!!! – will remain in Bill Belichick’s dog house beyond this week but, for the moment, newly signed LeGarrette Blount has more value after his two TD rumbles against the Lions. If you’re the sort of masochist that enjoys owning New England RBs, he’s the guy, after Shane Vereen. Myself, I’m going to continue avoiding the situation completely; that much Tylenol would drain my bank account… Doug Martin was not only in uniform for the Bucs, he led the team in carries. Why?????? Uhhhhhh, maybe Lovie Smith’s unstable? With Martin healthy and getting the plurality of touches, there’s no Tampa RB worth owning… Juwan Thompson is one injury away from securing the safest RB job in football. If I needed a back to start immediately, of course Thompson wouldn’t be the guy; as a pickup to throw on my bench for upside, Juwanna Man morphs into a Top 10 option should any tragedy befall C.J. AndersonRyan Mathews is the lead clear lead back in San Diego and even avoided a shoulder scare against the Rams, yet Branden Oliver holds value in deeper PPR leagues. He’s Danny Woodhead-lite.

Another week, another productive outing for Jarvis Landry. Problem is, his ceiling’s capped because he’ll never be the focal point of Miami’s offense. However, averaging a TD and six receptions over the past four games, he’s evolved into an incredibly safe WR3. And yes, that makes him the best available option on the Week 13 waiver wire… Not exactly sure what happened to Jacksonville’s passing game. Allen Hurns and Cecil Shorts combined for seven targets in a game the Jags lost by 20 points – that lacks logic. To compound the matter, Marqise Lee had a team high 52 yards on three grabs. Never good. I’m willing to call this a one-week aberration, mainly because I’m a Cecil Shorts apologist. Shorts isn’t startable in Week 13, but does possess one of the premier Fantasy playoff schedules. If he’s dropped in your league, snag him for nothing, throw him on the back end of the bench and hope his double-digit targets rematerialize… Maybe I was wrong claiming, “no Minnesota WR is worth owning,” Charles Johnson definitely deserves a gander. Johnson’s developed quite the rapport with Teddy Bridgewater, picking up nine catches on 18 targets the last two weeks, finding pay dirt for the first time in his career against the Packers. It will be tough to trust any Viking, at any position, in your starting lineup, but if this consistency continues, Johnson will make a nice WR3/FLEX play if you’re desperate. Also, he may secretly be Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man, which I see as a plus…  JOSH GORDON CAME BACK, he looks glorious. It opened up room for Andrew Hawkins too. Hawkins’ pre-Gordon target numbers took a hit (only five), but he hauled in a bounty of high-percentage passes underneath that allowed him to put his blazing speed to proper use. With Hawkins’ ability to pile up clusters of yardage after the catch, he’s still worth holding on to. Miles Austin and Taylor Gabriel? Meh, cut’em… Justin Hunter, like Malcom Floyd, will have his weekly usage fluctuate like a sine curve, but if you’re in the business of taking home run hacks from the backend of your roster, both vertical threats can go off any given week. It’s just, you know, not predictable whatsoever… Erase Doug Baldwin’s two catch, six yard atrocity from your head movies posthaste. Baldwin’s soft playoff schedule makes him worth the roster spot.

Best of Week 12: Odell Beckham Jr. Breaks the Internet

This amazing moment officially made November 23 Odell Beckham Jr. night on the Interwebs. So enjoy the best of…

What were we talking about? Oh ya…

Tight Ends

  1. Charles Clay ($5)
  2. Larry Donnell ($4)
  3. Coby Fleener ($3)
  4. Owen Daniels ($0)
  5. Jermaine Gresham ($0)
  6. Kyle Rudolph ($0)
  7. Eric Ebron ($0)
  8. Mychal Rivera ($2)
  9. Vernon Davis ($0)
  10. Austin Seferian-Jenkins ($0)
  11. Scott Chandler ($0)
  12. Dwayne Allen ($2)
  13. Tim Wright ($0)
  14. Jace Amaro ($0)
  15. Heath Miller ($0)
  16. Cooper Helfet ($0)
  17. Daniel Fells ($0)

Not much a-brewin on the tight end front. The position’s become so barren only three tight ends, through Sunday, had over 50 yards receiving – Delanie Walker, GRONKSMASH and Travis Kelce. That’s truly horrendous. Although he was inactive with a hamstring issue, if Charles Clay is in uniform against the Jets Monday night, he’s the top streaming option. The extra day of rest should help and New York’s proved its futility against big men all season… Eric Ebron underwhelmed, turning his seven targets into a pitiful two receptions for 23 yards. Still, if he can mirror that same opportunity against the Bears on Thanksgiving, he’ll be in line for a giant day… Kyle Rudolph alert!!! After shaming me with a goose egg in Week 11, he managed 50 yards on three grabs against the Packers. It’s not much, but the healthier he gets, presumably, the better he’ll be. If you’re truly out of options at TE, go get him… Sorry Richard Rodgers, you’ll never be this open again. Unless Aaron Rodgers hypnotizes the defense with his funky airplane dance. Even then.

Quarterbacks

  1. Ryan Tannehill ($21)
  2. Mark Sanchez ($10)
  3. Zach Mettenburger ($0)
  4. Josh McCown ($5)
  5. Matthew Stafford ($2)
  6. Andy Dalton ($0)
  7. Robert Griffin III ($0)
  8. CHEF HOYARDEE!!! ($0)
  9. Teddy Throwsevelt ($0)
  10. Kyle Orton ($0)
  11. Ryan Fitzpatrick ($0)
  12. Blake Bortles ($0)
  13. Drew Stanton ($0)
  14. Alex Smith ($0)
  15. Derek Carr ($0)
  16. Shaun Hill: PPR Superstar ($0)

Ryan Tannehill’s posted 20+ Fantasy points in four of eight weeks, making him criminally under owned. Expect that stat to turn into “five of nine” in next week’s column after feasting on the Jets’ sievelike secondary… Brian Hoyer became the first Browns QB to toss 300+ yards in back-to-back games since 1980. He’ll have a real shot to complete the trifecta with the Bills on tap. Unfortunately, he may throw five picks too. Somewhat problematic… Three starts, three 300+ yard showings for Mark SanchezZach Mettenberger has two TD passes in three of four starts, and it’s not like the Texans are exactly a difficult matchup. Houston’s ceded 15+ Fantasy points to opposing QBs in six straight games.

Defense/Special Teams

  1. STL vs OAK
  2. DET vs CHI
  3. HOU vs TEN
  4. NYG at JAX
  5. BUF vs CLE
  6. CLE at BUF

Fantasy Playoffs D/ST

  1. DET
  2. BAL
  3. HOU
  4. TEN
  5. WAS

You may feel queasy picking up and starting the Giants’ defense, but they play Jacksonville, makers of a Top 10 D/ST every single week in 2014… There’s a chance the Lions D/ST was dropped before their clash with New England. Great news, as they’ll rebound against Jay Cutler, a man who only loves two things: CIGS and Turnovers. Plus, Detroit’s schedule is ultra favorable through the end of the season (CHI/TB/MIN/CHI)… No, Oakland isn’t about to embark on an extended winning streak. So, if you successfully streamed the Rams in Week 12, just do it again in Week 13. #rWo… The Titans D/ST is an OK start against the Texans, however looking forward, they have the easiest opponents in the Fantasy playoffs. Consider rostering them now and taking advantage of NYG/NYJ/JAX in Weeks 14-16… Oh, if the Ravens D/ST was cut loose because of their bye week, remember, they go JAX/HOU in Weeks 15 and 16.

NOTEIf anyone drops NE D/ST because of its Week 13 matchup with the Packers, use a waiver bid on them to deploy in Week 16 against the Jets.
