However, finding replacements for them on fantasy rosters isn’t as easy as just grabbing the next man up. In most cases, the playing time void is being filled by more than one backup. So fantasy owners may need to focus their attention elsewhere.

1B Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Phillies

OK, a series at Coors Field can be a great way to get on a hot streak, but Howard was already starting his climb before even visiting the Rockies. He’s hitting .324 in May with five homers and 11 RBI as the Phillies have pulled themselves out of the NL East cellar. It’s hard for a guy this big to fly under the radar, and with his average up to a season-high .257, he probably won’t much longer.
