It took Rudy Gobert 23 games to hit the 25 minute mark in a contest, but when the Utah Jazz dealt Enes Kanter to the Oklahoma City Thunder it opened things up for Gobert as he averaged 35 minutes a game over the final 28 games of the season. Gobert averaged only 8 points and 9 rebounds per-game on the year, but over his final 24 games he averaged 16 rebounds, 11 points and 2.7 blocks per-game. The hype is real!

The Portland Trail Blazers cleaned house in the offseason and not by choice; LaMarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews and Robin Lopez walked and Nicolas Batum was traded to the Charlotte Hornets. That leaves only one starter from last year’s team and it’s Damian Lillard. The 25-year-old has the potential to be Russell Westbrook-like from last season when the Thunder were without all their superstars. Lillard posted a 47.0 usage rate in his last preseason game scoring 39 points on 14-for-30 shooting.  He also picked up nine assists, four rebounds and four steals. Lillard averaged seven three point attempts per-game last season and he fired 26 from beyond the arc over his final three preseason games. His field goal percentage and turnover rate could go in the wrong direction, but he’ll make up for it everywhere else. Take a peak at his teammate C.J. McCollum as well you will find himself in a much bigger role this season.

In What It MeansChris Meaney discusses which players to target in your Fantasy Basketball drafts and which to avoid. Mike Omelan and Meaney talk about what it could mean for your fantasy team drafting Stephen Curry over Anthony Davis, should you get the first overall pick. They partake in a mark draft and debate which early round strategies are better suited for success. Sleepers, busts, breakouts come up and so does the importance of looking ahead at the schedule that will eventually be Fantasy Basketball playoffs. Which players will rest on back-to-backs down the stretch?
